A bird that appeared to have an exotic coloration was rescued on a boulevard in the UK and later taken to the Tiggywinkles Wildlife Veterinary Hospital. The team of veterinarians at the site then discovered that the bird was actually a seagull covered in what appeared to be curry, an Indian spice that has a yellow-orange color.
According to a Facebook post by Tiggywinkles Wildlife, the bird covered itself in the condiment so that the spice spread through its feathers, preventing the bird from flying.

“We have no idea how he got into this situation, but fortunately, in addition to the vibrant color and the spicy smell, the bird was healthy”, says the publication.

The bird was named Vinny, after an Indian dish called Vindaloo, made with curry. The team of veterinarians at the hospital gave the seagull a bath, removing all the product from the animal’s feathers.
“He is looking much better now and should be able to get back to nature soon,” they wrote on Facebook.
